MEMORY FOAM FOOTBED

The memory foam technology responds to heat and pressure while evenly distributing support and comfort where it's needed. Memory foam molds to the body in response to heat and pressure, evenly distributing body weight. It returns to its original shape once the shoe is off.

The memory foam footbed molds to the soles of your feet, allowing for a more comfortable experience while walking, running, hiking, or any all-day activity!

Using memory foam will make your journey more comfortable and provide the extra support you need to go that extra mile! This technology adds a layer of cushioning for your feet and relieves pressure from the ball of your foot.

WATERPROOF

Our Waterproof footwear is designed to keep your feet dry through snow, puddles, or if you accidentally step into a creek!

Its membrane material is used as a protective layer within the boot's upper construction; it prevents water from penetrating the boot into the foot area. While the boot's exterior may become wet, the interior is safe and dry!

SHANK PROTECTION

The steel shank is a supportive part of the shoe made of a flat piece of metal located above the outer sole located between the heel and ball area of the foot just below the arch.

Shank protection is crucial to the functionality of hiking and backpacking boots as they diminish the load incurred by the person's feet and calves throughout their journey. Along with protection from rock bruising and any potential bottom punctures.

Thinsulate™, made by 3M™, makes living life in every season more enjoyable and provides warmth in a lightweight and excellent thin insulator.

The thin microfibers in Thinsulate™ insulation trap heat and block body radiant heat loss. The high warmth-to-thickness ratio of the insulation design enables enhanced freedom of movement with less bulk. The more air material traps in a given space, the better it insulates you from the cold outside air.

The fibers in Thinsulate™ insulation are more delicate than those used in other synthetic, or natural insulation‚ Thinsulate™ traps more air in less space‚ which naturally makes them a better insulator.

Thinsulate™ is measured in grams, ranging from 100-1000 grams in most winter boots:

  • 200-gram Thinsulate™ Insulation for Footwear is recommended for cool conditions or high activity levels where the wearer generates a lot of body heat through activity.

  • 400-gram Thinsulate™ Ultra Insulation for Footwear is recommended for cold conditions or for moderate activity levels where the wearer generates a normal amount of body heat through activity.

  • 600-gram Thinsulate™ Ultra Insulation for Footwear is recommended for very cold conditions or very light activity levels where the wearer generates little body heat through activity.

  • 800-gram Thinsulate™ Ultra Insulation for Footwear is recommended for extremely cold conditions or extremely light activity levels where the wearer generates minimal body heat through activity.

  • 1,000-gram Thinsulate™ Ultra Insulation for Footwear is recommended for unique applications requiring additional insulation.
